The American Justice Summit 2014

On Monday, November 10 2014,  Flashpoint Digital was brought in to broadcast the first annual American Justice Summit. This year's conversation covered the dire need for reform in America's crumbling criminal justice system.

The summit, a calibration between Vice News and Tina Brown Live Media, featured journalists, politicians, ex-convicts, prison wardens, psychologists, and researchers, focused on the 2.4 million people who are incarcerated in the US, and the personal, social, and financial epidemics that exist as a result of America's prison system.

Some highlights from the day include a conversation with New York City Police Commissioner Bill Bratton on what crimes should mandate sentences, and a discussion on "Surviving The Time" in prison featuring Piper Kerman, author of "Orange is the New Black: My Year in a Women's Prison."

Flashpoint Digital supplied the cameras, live-streaming equipment, and operators needed to successfully produce this five hour conference which was viewed live by nearly 10,000 people.
